தற்சமயம் தஞ்சாவூர் அரண்மனை தேவஸ்தானத்தால் நிர்வகிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. சோழ மன்னர்கள் தற்போது சமஸ்கிருத சொல்லால் நிசும்ப சூதனி என்று அழைக்கப்படும். வடபத்திரகாளி அம்மனை தங்களது தெய்வமாக போற்றி வழிபட்டு வந்திருக்கிறார்கள். விஜயாலய சோழன் வட பத்திரகாளியம்மன் திருஉருவச் சிலையை அமைத்து அதற்கு தனி கோயில் கட்டியதாக கூறுகிறார்கள்.தாரகாசசூரனை வதம் செய்து பராசர முனிவரின் கோரிக்கையை ஏற்று அதே கோலத்தில் நின்றபடி சாந்தகார உருவமாகக் கோடியம்மன் காட்சி தந்ததாக கூறப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
இக்கோயிலின் மூலவராக கோடியம்மன் இருக்கிறார் அவரது தலையில் சிவன் பொறிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, அம்மனின் வாகனமாக நந்தி இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது.
பச்சைக்காளி ,பவளக்காளி திருவிழா இந்த கோயிலில் சிறப்பாக ஆண்டுதோறும் கொண்டாடப்படும்.
இந்தக் கோயிலுக்கு பல்வேறு ஊர்களில் இருந்தும் பக்தர்கள் வருகிறார்கள்.தினந்தோறும் பக்தர்கள் வருகை தந்தாலும் வெள்ளி, செவ்வாய் கிழமைகளில் அதிக அளவில் பக்தர்கள் வருகை தருகிறார்கள்.
